Amazon Begins an e-Book Lending Program with a New Business Model

Amazon announced today that it will begin e-book rentals for their Kindle device. The program will begin for Amazon Prime subscribers and will only work on the Kindle.

Customers will be allowed to borrow one book per month without any due date, the moment you get another title the previous one will disappear from your device.

If Amazon gets this right, it could be the business model for other's moving forward. But according to the Wall St. Journal, none of the big six publishers are on board with Amazon at this time, I assume they are waiting to see if this new model succeeds and at the same time does no affect sales of their old titles.
