In announcing this month that it would start publishing its own line of romance novels, Amazon.com Inc.promised more to come. The top online retailer made good on that promise today, announcing the launch of its fifth imprint, Thomas & Mercer, which will publish mysteries and thrillers.
Amazon, No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, says the new publishing brand will issue its first four books this fall. They will be released in printed and audio formats as well as for Amazon’s Kindle e-book reader, and offered to other retailers to sell as well as Amazon.com.
"Our customers enjoy reading mysteries and thrillers, and we're excited to launch this imprint devoted to that genre," says Victoria Griffith, a publisher in Amazon’s Amazon Publishing unit. CLICK HERE for the rest of the story.
